The Renon plateau

Whether at breathtaking heights in the impressive mountains of the Dolomites or along gentle meadow paths beside a stream, the Renon plateau in South Tyrol offers something for everyone - from families to experienced summit seekers. The network of hiking trails stretches from the vineyards above Bolzano, across blooming meadows and forests, up to alpine pastures rich in flowers and traditional huts at over 2,000 metres, all the way to the Corno del Renon.

With its mild climate, lush meadows and shady forests, the Renon plateau invites you to enjoy hikes of all difficulty levels, varied mountain bike tours and much more. Here, you can unwind, feel the warm sunshine on your skin and simply let your mind relax.

The largest sunny plateau in South Tyrol

With its seven villages and an area of 111 km², the Renon plateau is the largest sunny plateau in South Tyrol. It stretches above the provincial capital of Bolzano, between the Isarco and Talvera rivers, at an average altitude of around 1,000 metres above sea level. Here you can also enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramas of the Dolomites, which were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009. With over 300 days of sunshine each year, the Renon plateau ranks among the sunniest areas in South Tyrol.
